CERTIFIED RESULTS
A greener future with every unit.
We’re proud to be among the first in our industry to achieve embodied carbon certification for our entire product range. An important milestone that reflects our commitment to transparency, innovation, and environmental responsibility
Our Commitment to Sustainability
At Precision Refrigeration, we specialise in the design and manufacture of high-quality professional refrigeration equipment, proudly serving the foodservice and hospitality sectors in the UK and beyond. Our focus has always been on delivering reliable, high-performing solutions and now, more than ever, we are committed to doing so responsibly.
Sustainability is not just a feature of our products - it’s a guiding principle in how we operate. From material selection and energy efficiency to responsible sourcing and waste reduction, we continuously review and improve our practices to lower our environmental impact.
We are proud to align our efforts with the UK Government’s Net Zero 2050 target. By investing in natural refrigerants, design optimisation, and collaborative supplier engagement, we are actively working to reduce our carbon footprint and support a low-carbon future for our industry.
Our Approach to TM65 and Life-Cycle Thinking
We apply TM65 methodology and life cycle thinking to assess and reduce the environmental impact of our products at every stage of their development and use.
The TM65 methodology, developed by CIBSE, is a structured approach to calculating the embodied carbon of building services equipment. It focuses on emissions from material extraction, processing, manufacturing, transportation, and assembly. By adopting TM65, we ensure our embodied carbon data is consistent, transparent, and can easily be verified by third-parties.
Complementing this, we apply life cycle thinking, which extends the analysis beyond the point of manufacture. This cradle-to-grave perspective accounts for energy use during the operational phase, maintenance requirements, and end-of-life treatment or recyclability. It enables us to identify carbon hotspots and drive continuous improvement in product design, material choice, and supplier collaboration.
This dual approach supports our sustainability goals, informs our product development decisions, and helps our customers meet their own environmental targets.
Our Carbon Certification Journey
We are committed to providing transparent, verified carbon data for our products. In 2024, we began a structured certification process to measure the embodied carbon of our refrigeration equipment using the CIBSE TM65 methodology.
Working closely with CIBSE, we prepared detailed documentation, including breakdown of materials and energy used in the manufacturing process, and refrigerant specification. Each product’s calculation was independently reviewed through CIBSE’s Embodied Carbon Verification (ECV) service.
The result: a growing portfolio of TM65-certified products, each with a verified carbon value that supports informed decision-making for designers, specifiers, and environmentally responsible buyers.
This certification process marks a key milestone in our broader sustainability strategy. It allows us to track progress, identify reduction opportunities, and contribute to our transition towards net zero.
Our journey doesn’t end with certification. We continue to review our product designs, supply chain practices, and operational energy use with the aim of reducing carbon emissions at every level of our business.
Certified by CIBSE: Trustworthy, Verified Carbon Data
We have demonstrated our commitment to responsible manufacturing and embodied carbon transparency by certifying our entire product range using CIBSE’s verification scheme.
